| Tóm tắt/chú giải | This book offered the comprehensive understanding of the standard of treatment of foreign investment taking into account developments in treaty practice and arbitral jurisprudence. Theoretically, in order to promote and protect foreign investor's investment in the host state, most international investment agreement (IIA) contain certain clauses on the standards of protection and treatment of foreign investments which addresses issues such as national treatment, most-favoured nation treatment, fair and equitable treatment and full protection and security. Also, IIAs provided the access to investor-state dispute settlement (ISDS) for redress against Host States for breaches of such protection. Nowithstanding, some of the mentioned standards are vague which leads to various manners of interpretation and application of the arbitrators tribunals. Thus the authors aim to offer the analysis of the explanation of these standards by dividing into 10 chapters.Chapter 1 represented the historical evolution of investment treaty framework including the origin of international investment law, the development of this framework before, during and after the World War II and the establishment, structure and scope of application of Bilateral Investment treaty (BITs), Free trade Agreement (FTA), Energy Charter Treaty (ECT)
